  • Age of Product and Oxygenation: Fragrances, particularly niche ones, can vary in scent and performance based on exposure to oxygen. Fragrance houses typically allow perfumes to macerate before release, which can affect their composition. Samples exposed to more oxygen may smell different from new bottles. We recommend using a new bottle several times to allow it to ‘awaken’ and fully express its intended fragrance.
  • Natural Variation: Natural materials used in perfumes can differ due to factors like harvesting, distillation, and processing. These differences may lead to variations in the final product, even with careful blending.
  • Skin Chemistry: Perfumes can perform and smell differently on various skin types due to individual oils, acidity, and pores. We recommend sampling a fragrance before purchasing to ensure it suits your personal chemistry.
  • Weather Conditions: External factors like heat and humidity can impact a fragrance’s performance and scent.
  • Olfactory Fatigue: If a fragrance seems weak or lacks longevity, it may be due to olfactory fatigue. We suggest asking someone else for their opinion or taking a break from fragrances for a few days to reset your senses.
  • Anosmia: Some individuals may be anosmic to specific fragrance molecules, such as musks. Perfumers often use multiple types of musks to ensure a fragrance is experienced by a broader audience. If you cannot detect a particular ingredient, this could be the reason.
  • Subjectivity: Despite our best efforts to describe fragrances objectively, the connection between scent and memory is deeply personal. We always recommend sampling a fragrance before committing to a purchase.

Pre-Orders

 

Pre-orders allow customers to reserve new or restocked products. Estimated availability dates are provided, though these dates may change. Orders with pre-ordered items will be shipped once all items are in stock. For immediate dispatch, please place separate orders for in-stock products.

Brand Descriptions

 

Product descriptions and fragrance notes are generally sourced from the brand’s official materials, reflecting their creative intentions. Given the subjective nature of perfume, these descriptions may differ from individual customer experiences. We suggest sampling the fragrance before purchasing.

Tracking / Postage

 

Once a tracking number is issued, your order is processed and ready for collection by Australia Post. During high order volumes, tracking numbers may be issued while your order is still being processed, which can lead to cancellations or refunds. Tracking updates will be provided once Australia Post scans your parcel. Orders with Express Post are subject to the same processing timeframes as standard orders. Safety & Allergen Precautions

 

We strive to offer perfumes that are safe for all to wear, but we cannot predict individual allergic reactions. If you have known sensitivities, we recommend testing perfumes on a small area of skin first. If you develop an allergic reaction, discontinue use immediately. Please follow these safety guidelines:

  • Flammability: Perfumes are flammable. Avoid applying near fire, heat, or while smoking.
  • External Use Only: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and do not ingest the perfume.
  • Keep Away from Children & Pets: Keep all products out of reach of children and pets.
  • Sensitive Skin: Do not apply to sensitive, broken, or inflamed skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
  • Sun Exposure: Avoid applying to areas exposed to the sun, as the essential oils and alcohol in perfumes can cause rashes or burns.
  • Sensitive Skin: For those with sensitive skin, consider applying the fragrance to clothing or fabric rather than directly to the skin.

Packaging

 

Many independent and artisanal perfume brands prioritize the quality of the fragrance over packaging, which may result in simple bottles with handmade labels. However, other brands may invest in more elaborate packaging. We offer a variety of products to accommodate both preferences.

Faulty Atomisers

 

If you receive a fragrance with a faulty atomiser, please contact us for a replacement and return arrangements. For atomisers that malfunction after reasonable use, we recommend:

  • Soaking the sprayer in hot water or isopropyl alcohol to dissolve blockages.
  • Holding the bottle upside down and spraying to clear blockages.
  • Checking for any debris if the sprayer head is detachable.
  • Replacing the sprayer head with another compatible one.
  • Using a syringe to push air into the bottle or decant the fragrance into another bottle.
